The story of 'Blood Machines' is about the connection between artificial intelligence (A.I.) and life. A story of artificial intelligence turning into a free-living being. It is based on Carpenter Brut's music video 'Turbo Killer'. The name of the movie Blood Machines itself indicates that the machine can also bleed just like humans. Yes, the spaceships are shown as living beings. In this movie, every spaceship has an artificial intelligence, which basically operates the spaceship under the control of humans. Here artificial intelligence is shown as the soul of the spaceship. When a spaceship dies, the A.I. comes out in the form of a ghost girl.

Vascan (Anders Heinrichsen) and Lago (Christian Erickson) are blade runners. Their spaceship (A.I. system) name is Tracy. They are tasked to hunt down a defective spaceship named Mima, which has been taken over by its artificial intelligence. The character of Vascan isn't about a good guy. He is the captain of the ship. Vascan doesn't respect machines and women. He loves abusing machines. Lago is a spaceship mechanic and Vascan's partner. He believes that the machine has a soul too.

Corey (Elisa Lasowski) is a priest of the machine. She treats machines like human beings. Corey understands the connection between machine and soul.  She appears near the wreck of Mima. She tries to protect Mima. Near the wreck of Mima, Corey does some kind of rituals, then a ghost girl comes out of the wreck. The ghost girl floats away in the space. Maybe Corey is an artificial intelligence (ghost girl) too. Because Corey, Tracy, Mima, and all other A.I. are connected telepathically. After that miracle, Commander Galdor came, and Vascan took Corey hostage in his ship.

Vascan and Lago later arrived at a dead machine's cemetery while tracking Mima. In the middle of all the junk, Corey takes Vascan into a big tower, where Corey takes over the control. Again she does some rituals, and suddenly ghost girls start to come out from the wrecks. The ghost girls are connected to their ships. With the help of ghost girls, Corey destroys Commander Galdor's spaceship firepower. Now all artificial intelligence are free souls. There's this part where Tracy comes out as a ghost girl from the ship. She also joins Corey. At the end, all the ghost girls formed into a giant ghost girl. 

'Blood Machines' is a short movie. Its run-time is only 50 minutes, but this movie is rare. Although the story isn't one of the greatest, but the visuals are. The visuals are out of this universe. This masterpiece isn't made for everyone. I highly recommend this movie if you like the cinematography of neon colors and good VFX. It's worth a watch.

I would say that this article is for the people who love to wanderlust, especially for the ones who have watched The Silencing (2020) and are wondering about the various locations featured in the movie.
