This Sundance film is a modern illustration of the biblical tale of Cain and Abel (the sons of Adam and Eve). It is divided into two timelines —1980s and 2019. The initial phase reflects the childhoods of two individuals and their horrific mistakes. The next chapter, 2019, takes us through how a past mistake affected their adult lives. The Whale is a story of repentance and sorrow of a morbidly obese teacher. (Note: Spoilers ahead.) 'Close' is a French film about the innocent and naive friendship of two thirteen-year-old boys, Leo (Eden Dambrine) & Remi (Gustav De Waele). As in the title, they are close friends, as if they were twin brothers. Leo mostly stays at Rami's house, they play together, eat together and even share the same bed. But everything changes when they leave the flower fields and begin school life.
